Pastor Daniel Okyei Boakye, Resident Pastor of the Takoradi branch of the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC), a subsidiary of the Church of Pentecost (CoP) has admonished Christians to strive to remain in the favour of God for success in their lives.
He quoted Luke 1:28 which reads thus, “The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you” and said it takes the favour of God for one to excel in every aspect of life.
Pastor Boakye who was preaching at the climax of the Church’s Christmas Convention under the theme, “You are highly favoured, The Lord is with you” listed twelve (12) inspiring messages the Angel Gabriel told Mary.
He indicated that “you are highly favoured and the Lord is with you” meant that God will not only favour us and leave but will be with us throughout the journey.
He said “do not be afraid, and you will be with a child” meant that Christians will be productive and all things made possible to them with the favour of God.
He further explained that “you will give birth to a son (Jesus who will be the saviour of mankind) meant that Christ will come to the earth again to reign with believers.
“The son will be great which means our productive work will be great and beneficial to mankind, and God will give the son the throne of his father David means that Jesus shall reign on all the earth”, he stated.
He also admonished Christians that God has brought them into a Kingdom that has no end and therefore cannot be hindered hence, the need to stand firm in the faith believing God for His redemption through all things.
Pastor Boakye argued that it was not possible for a virgin to give birth as was the case of Mary, coupled with the ridicule and the stigma she had to go through but because of the favour of God upon her she was vindicated from it all.
He opined that human connections become useless when the favour of God comes upon us and urged the singles in the church to strive to remain in the favour of God.
“Power becomes silent when favour speaks and the things that were meant to break us rather pushes us through, and so we should not allow negative words take us away from the favour of God”, he stressed.
