The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly (NEMA), Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah, has given the road linking Awuku-Aguafo-Agona a facelift.
The reshaping of the road, according to the MCE was to make the roads motorable and accessible to economic development in the Municipality and the country at large.
Madam Amoah, in an interview with Ahoto News, said her focus was to make all the roads in the Municipality motorable.
She added that with support from the government, the Assembly was making plans to fix all the road network challenges facing it so as to boost agricultural activities in the Municipality.
She lamented that access to good roads was a major challenge the people were facing in the Municipality, hence the need to work hard to improve on them.
According to her, in an effort to address the road network challenges in the area, there was the need to embark on reshaping some of the roads within the Municipality so as to lessen the burdens of the residents, especially during the rainy season.
Madam Amoah pointed out that large quantities of farm produce were left in the farms wasting away following the bad road network in the area even though most of the residents found themselves engaged in fishing, farming and mining as their major occupation.
The MCE further assured the people of her commitment to fixing the road challenges to bring relief to the residents and visitors to the Municipality.
