
Nana Dr Ama Amissah III, Paramount Queen-mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area in the Central Region, has urged parents in the region to come together to fight teenage pregnancy in the area.
Nana Amissah III hinted that teenage pregnancy has been on the ascendance in the area which has compelled the queen mothers in the region to form an association to fight the menace.
The Paramount Queen-mother was speaking as a guest speaker at a dedication ceremony to dedicate new robes for the choir of the Muzama Disco Christo Church (MDCC).
According to her, these days due to hardships, many parents have left their children to fend for themselves making them fall prey to both young and adult men who takes advantage of them and impregnate them.
She, therefore, pleaded with parents to take full responsibility for their children so as to guard against teenage pregnancies which have the tendency to ruin their lives or even take away their lives if they attempted an abortion.
The General Prophet of the Muzama Disco Christo Church, Moknayeeba Jehu Appiah on his part urged the youth to respect their leaders as the Holy Bible enjoins them.
He also urged politicians in the country to be careful with the things they say since the youth who are the future of the country are looking up to them so that they don’t copy their bad examples.
The Mankessim District Pastor of the MDCC, Rev David Amon advised the youth to let their lives conform to Christian life to receive God’s blessing and be useful to the nation.
