
The Motor, Transport and Traffic Division (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service at the Airport Divisional, has processed five (5) drivers to court for careless and inconsiderate driving, including driving in the middle of the road facing oncoming vehicles.
The five drivers are Ahiadoglo Godnows, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number WR 2416 – 17; Arthur Asafo-Agyei Adu, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with registration number GT 489 – 15 and Abdul Bandaogo, driving a Hyundai Sonata with registration number DV 6056 – 22.
The rest are Ntiedu George, driving a Scion taxi cab with registration number GR 1851 – 21 and Mr Emmanuel Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembelle constituency, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GR 3533 – 20.
A press statement issued and signed by Chief Inspector Bright Kwabena Danso of the Regional Public Affairs Unit/AR said in the evening of 3rd March 2022, near the Aviation Social Center, arrested the drivers on the aforementioned driving offences.
The statement said the first four (4) suspects were duly processed to face court while Mr Kofi Buah after his driver’s license was taken and sent to the Police Station to be processed for court, failed to cooperate with the police and drove away leaving his driver’s license behind.
It said the Airport Police Command later contacted the Ellembelle legislature in the night on the telephone and asked him to report at the station today, March 4 2022 to be processed for court.
The statement added that the MP is said to have reported this morning at the station and has been duly processed for court.
Meanwhile, the police continue to urge all motorists to abide by road traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all and cut down on the many road accidents.
“Everyone’s journey will also be faster if we all obey the road traffic rules”, the statement concluded.
