The Coffin Makers Association in Kumasi Asafo in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in the Ashanti Region have announced to the general public that prices of coffin have been increased following the rising cost of materials for production.
According to them, the rate at which people died lately was alarming and the price of the materials they used in making the coffin has increased drastically.
Speaking in an interview, the spokesperson for the Asafo Coffin Makers Association, Mr Prince Opoku, said, the economy was very hard and things were very costly making it difficult to buy the needed items for production.
He lamented that customers have also been complaining about the rising cost and had been pleading for reduction.
Mr Opoku, therefore, pleaded with the government to consider reducing the tax on the materials they use or making available some incentives to them so that they can continue the trade and take good care of themselves and family.
He further appealed to the government to control the incessant increment of goods and services in the country to alleviate the plight of the citizens.
